Brighton 1-1 Chelsea – Frank Lampard FULL Post Match Press Conference – SUBTITLES

Two points dropped but an incredible equaliser? “It was an incredible equaliser, that’s
for sure, but I think we deserved it because it is two points dropped. Because in the first
half, if we are ruthless the game is out of sight. Not to say we had multiple chances
but we had control. “We had opportunities to play people in who
could score and make decisions around the box to score, to keep switching the ball,
to keep doing what we did in the first 20 minutes and we came off that slightly. “We allowed them to feel like they’re still
in the game and they’re a good team. When they started to play a bit later in the game
they cause you problems.” Lewis Dunk won first header for goal? “But he will do. They’re bigger than us
so you try and compete as well as you can. They had a few corners and than can happen
and you have to worry about the second ball and you can’t stop the actual execution
of the strike. “They are bigger than us. I thought we dealt
with set pieces not too bad today to a degree. Obviously with one like that it happens and
they get their goal.” What does this result show? “We’ve got work to do. The Christmas period
has probably been a small showing of our season. Tottenham was a fantastic all-round performance.
Arsenal showed great spirit and fight for a young group. Southampton, we struggled to
break a team down and lost a game at home. “Then today it was a game where we should
have the mindset to kill it, because the opportunity was there in the first half, and we don’t.
It shows the good and the bad of us. That shows we must remain humble. We must work
hard. We’ve had two great results over Christmas but there’s a lot of work to do.” Why was the mindset not there? “It’s not that the mindset is there it’s
just how you work to try and win games you have to deal with them in game and that is
part of the process.” Part of the process with young players, need to learn how to see out games and be clinical when it matters? “Maybe. Sometimes you can accuse a bad period
in a game on a lack of fight, lack of urgency, lack of whatever. Today wasn’t. It was a
lack of quality on the ball so we had a situation in the first half when we knew the problem
for them. “We could find our full backs easily, keep
control of the ball easily and we just decided not to keep doing that, not to keep doing
the simple things. Then all of a sudden you’re giving the ball away and when you are getting
opportunities to score you’re not taking them and if you don’t do that at this level
then you’re not going to win games that you should.” Start to lose control when Jorginho not on
the ball as much in second half? “Maybe and I think that is where the slightly
matched up with us second half and then it becomes a match up, are you better than us,
are we better than you? We didn’t do enough at that point. It can’t be just about Jorginho
getting on the ball because if that avenue is shut down there has to be other ways to
play. “That can’t be the answer. I think it has
to be a collective in terms of the lowering of quality in our game today. That wasn’t
any one individual and I think there were actually some standout performances, particularly
Kepa, particularly Kante, I think Toni Rudiger but in general for the team we lost too many
balls.” Would you like Zaha and send Giroud to Palace? “I wouldn’t talk about Zaha and the idea
of that deal is something I have never even considered.” Zaha a player you like? “As I say I won’t talk about Zaha because
he is not a player of ours. If we have to do business we will do it in the way we see
fit to try and make us better and that’s behind closed doors as opposed to just announcing
who we might want to bring in.”

Remember you are in a very hot seat. This is Chelsea we don't care your achievements as a former player. You have a pathetic style of play nowdays. Pathetic holding of ball and back passes. Any small exposure that is a threat from opponent. This is Chelsea. I hope you can count the number of managers who coached you while at Chelsea. Very pathetic play.

And overrated failure manager fails again. Lol 8th by february. Really? Sub Pullisic and bring useless oddoi to keep your boyfriend mount. Also why Flopbraham every match, giroud or batshu deserves a chance.

You not rotating the squad so that's your fault and your days are numbered. I will be surprised if you will still be the coach by March.

Hudson odoi wasted the best and simplest chance to win the game at the end, considering his so called talent.

Why do we pass sideways and backwards

This much? If we would be on top of the league if possession was the point of the game – but we are not – so why is Frank not looking at it? The lightening speed with which some teams attack the other opponents goal area – when our back line would still be passing across to each other and then eventually to Kepa who kicks it in is – very FRUSTRATING. You can almost predict these passes from us. Mrs. was like why do they keep passing to the sides, why?

The back four, particularly Mr. Captain "Afraid of the ball" Dave, my goodness, professional footballer, no foresight, no dribbling, no decent crossing – why?

Jorginho and Korvacic dont do any better, in fact they are worst – one miss Fabregas – cause these lot will make sure CHELSEA never score pass 3 ever insofar as they remain in midfield. They play SAFE football. Taking a risk or being unpredictable is not part of their game. So “finishing teams off” is gone out of our game. They retard our attack and slows down our games, the ones that in their complacent minds we must be winning.

We need more killer instinct, I was always uncomfortable at 1-0 as we tend to concede every game. We need more goal threat than Abraham and Willian!! At this level we cannot afford passengers! Zaha would be a great addition to draw attention and free up the other players to show their quality!

Seriously don’t get it. Chelsea fans all knew that this season was always going to be a transitional year for the youngsters to go grab the experience to challenge for titles in the future. And yet I see a couple of idiots here lamenting on how we didn’t win the game.

Give the boys a break, they are young and they make silly mistakes which they will learn as they play. Besides, so what if we won the game? We are out of the Premier league title race already, so just get real. No matter where we finish this season, support them all the way because they are only gonna get better next season.

Chelsea were very fragile mentally in the second half. We start games quite strongly but when teams work out how to change their formation as Brighton did today we seemed to crumble with no plan b. Honestly I don’t know what the problem is other than a lack of on field leadership. Please do confuse Jorghino’s pointing and shouting for leadership. He’s not a leader with spirit a la JT! In January we don’t just need a player or two we need players with character. Also we desperately need RLC back. We are a small team and need some attacking physical presence other than Tammy.

Chelsea fans should be one and we must find the solution to our problems first we know we can't trust Rudiger and Zuma we need a quality defender like Koulibaly second we need to get rid of Emerson and Alonso to make way for chilwell and we need quality midfielders who have the pace and ability to score. The likes of Isco, Adama Traore and sensational Jack Grealish and Attackers to support Tammy the likes of Timo werner Harland, Calvert liwayne, Dany Ings and so much more

Finding & creating space in the Premier League is not easy, our young boys are learning their craft and "finding/creating space" is one of the hardest arts to learn. Time people, this is what a learning curve looks like.

Man got outclassed by Brightons manager 😂 they dominated the second half.. We could of lost that game if it wasn't for Kepa. In game management is so piss poor…get away from a 4-2-3-1 and stop protecting your English lads

Nothing needs to change atm other than left back position. We are doing great with a young team and am sure next season we are gonna smash it. We've won everything past 10 15 years. Now it's the time to build a young squad and watch them grow. Thought keppa FINALLY done well in a game and saved a couple of points – he needs to carry that on. Think in the summer we will busy. Still in top 4 . Well done Frank staff and the lads.!

to make it in top tear premier league nowadays you need top manager with experience and top signings, we have a top manager in the making who needs a bit more experience and we have a young team that needs more experience especially in decision making in the box look at Tammy for example when he chose to shoot rather than pass to Willian that's one of many wrong decisions. So it's all down to Chelsea club decision who are they willing to sign. SIgn quality players and reap rewards or sign mediocre players and hope for miracles. it doesn't work like that in premier League anymore. Look at the great Pep Guardiola with all the experience he has he had to spend big to get City to where they are now.
