Live Stream with GoPro and iPhone -Kingston DIY in 5 Ep. 9

Hello everyone and welcome back to DIY in
5! I’m Trisha Hershberger. And today, we’re talking about the GoPro again – but this time we’re doing it LIVE… well sort of. This episode is all about
how to livestream from a GoPro. Special thanks to Baxorn on YouTube for the topic suggestion! Now there are a
few methods to livestream with a GoPro, but the one we’re going to show you is the simplest. First, we need to gather all the right devices. Try to get your hands on a GoPro Hero 4 Silver
or Black, other GoPros just won’t cut it for this method. Next we need a streaming device, and if you have an iPhone 5S or newer with iOS 8.2 or above, you are in luck! You can stream directly from your phone using the GoPro and Periscope apps. Sadly, the Android Periscope app is still waiting for this functionality. If you want to know how to livestream on Android,
let us know in the comments below. Now download the GoPro app to your phone. Just search for it on the App Store. Once that’s finished downloading, you’ll need to pair your GoPro with the app. The app will walk you through how to do that, it’s a pretty easy process. Once you’re done pairing, you will need to connect to the GoPro’s WiFi signal. This is just like connecting to any other WiFi network. Go into Settings>Wi-fi>and select
Chewie1138 – or whatever name you gave your camera! Next, download the Periscope app. You might be familiar with Periscope if you are a Twitter user. It’s Twitter’s version of a livestream app that, thanks to a recent update, can work directly with your GoPro. Just go to the app store and download Periscope. Sign up for a free Periscope account and you’re
all set! Now it’s time to go live! Make sure your GoPro is in Video mode. Open the Periscope app and tap broadcast. You can even switch between the GoPro and your smartphone camera by double tapping the screen. Some things to remember – iPhone 5 and 5c devices will broadcast, but will not save the broadcast to your camera roll. Also, do not leave the Periscope app while broadcasting. Leaving Periscope will end the livestream. Now stream away with your bad GoPro self! I can’t wait to give all the hearts to your awesome action streams. Speaking of hearts, please give us a like and a subscribe and stay awhile, will ya? Check out these other GoPro DIY videos and let us know in the comments what you’d like to see us tackle next time on DIY in 5.

Apparently it doesn’t work at all the way you showed. It will only work for my phone camera and that’s it. So GoPro 6 with an iPhone 6 Plus is a no go.
